Zuluru is an open source web-based sports league management application. It is currently specific to Ultimate frisbee, but will be expanded to other sports in the future. Zuluru has been in use by 3000+ members of the Toronto Ultimate Club since August, 2010.
Zuluru is based on Leaguerunner, but is an almost complete rewrite based on the CakePHP Framework. All critical features are complete, while many new features have already been added, and more are on the way.
The focus of this development has been on replicating and expanding on the feature set of Leaguerunner while revamping the look, streamlining input (particularly in score submission and roster management), providing "two click" access to all important day-to-day data, creating more powerful administrative tools for batch processing, and dividing related functionality into modules, all done with modern development techniques. "Theming" allows for easy customization of views without complicating source control updates. Groundwork has been laid to make internationalization fairly straight-forward; the current timeline calls for that to happen for the 2013 season.
Zuluru code has been released into the public domain as of Jan 6, 2011. If you don't want to install it just to see it, you can try a live demo.
